R Lyth Butchers has been run by the Lyth family since 1930 and we have our main shop in Hinderwell - Saltburn-By-The-Sea, North Yorkshire. Lyths prides itself on our range of pork sausages, in particular our popular pork, leak and black pudding sausage and our award winning traditional pork sausages, as well as our caramelized onion and beef burgers. We provide a range of marinated meats, such as piri piri, garlic and butter and Chinese, perfect for barbequing. We specialise in using local honey from the North Yorkshire moors, from which the bee keepers are located half a mile from the butchers’ door. Family tradition is very important to R Lyth Butchers and we believe that the quality pork, lamb and beef products that we sell make us a great butchers.

Established in 1930, R Lyth Butchers Hinderwell has been providing high-quality meat to the local community for over 90 years.
Richard Lyth, took over the business, with a passion for delivering the best meat products to his customers.

James joined the family butcher business in 1996, proudly continuing the legacy started by his grandfather in the 1930s and passed down by his father, Richard, in the 1990s. With decades of experience, James combines quality service with a friendly, local touch—serving the community with the same dedication his family has shown for generations.

Richards wife, Marianne, whose own family ran a butcher’s shop in Staithes, brought her experience and passion into the business when they married—together they ran both shops for many years. Marianne now manages the finances and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
